West Chicago 3rd Alarm fire 11-4-12

This message comes from John Tulipano: Hi everyone, Just got word that around 10:15 AM today, the West Chicago Fire Protection District received a call about a fire at 1212 Kings Court. It was a three-story brick apartment building with 24 units, measuring roughly 50 feet by 125 feet. Unfortunately, by the time I arrived, the fire was already well underway. I’ve managed to upload a few photos so far, but you can find the rest of them on my SmugMug site. I’m still trying to get more details about what happened, but it seems like this was quite an intense situation. Here are some photos I’ve taken so far: [First Photo Caption] This is one of the first images I captured as I arrived on the scene. You can see the smoke billowing out of the top floors. [Second Photo Caption] Another angle showing the firefighters working hard to contain the blaze. The equipment they’re using is impressive. [Third Photo Caption] A closer look at the structure itself. The fire seemed to have started on one of the upper levels, making it challenging for the crews to control. [Fourth Photo Caption] From a different perspective, you can really appreciate the scale of the building and the effort required to extinguish the flames. [Fifth Photo Caption] Looking at the back of the building, where the firefighters are focusing their efforts. [Sixth Photo Caption] A wide shot of the entire area, showing how the fire affected the surrounding neighborhood. [Seventh Photo Caption] One last image before I head home.
