At approximately 2:15 AM this morning, the Long Grove Fire Protection District (FPD) and surrounding fire departments were called to a severe house fire at 21605 N Tiffany Court in Kildeer. Witnesses reported heavy black smoke billowing from a large two-story home, prompting an immediate escalation of the alarm to a MABAS Box Alarm. Just minutes later, the situation worsened, and a second alarm was dispatched. Within a short time, the entire structure was fully engulfed in flames, with towering infernos reaching over 60 feet into the sky.
The location, situated in a remote subdivision without access to fire hydrants, led to further complications. The alarm was escalated again, resulting in a third alarm and an additional fifth alarm specifically for water tenders. These units came from multiple counties, including Cook, Lake, McHenry, and Kenosha, highlighting the scale of the response.
To support firefighting efforts, water supply operations involved four portable tanks and numerous tenders shuttling water from two designated fill sites. Fire engines from Lake Zurich and Lake Bluff were working alongside a quint from Buffalo Grove, another from Barrington, and several lines operated by Long Grove Squad 55. This coordinated effort aimed to ensure a continuous water supply to combat the rapidly spreading fire.
Local photographers captured the intensity of the blaze, with images showing firefighters battling the flames and emergency vehicles on scene. The incident remains under investigation, and no casualties have been reported as of yet. Residents in the area were advised to remain cautious and stay informed through local authorities.
