3-Alarm fire in Wadsworth, IL, 11-16-14

This happened earlier today. Newport Township Fire Department responded to Box 14-48 at 13585 Wadsworth Road in Wadsworth, Illinois. The incident involved a fully involved residential structure, which also served as the office for Alaniz Irrigation. The fire was so intense that it required a third alarm response.
The firefighting effort was challenging due to the heavy fire load consuming the house. Crews had to operate primarily from the exterior, as conditions inside were too dangerous. A tender shuttle was established to supply water to multiple handlines, with additional support provided by Zion's truck. The scene was dynamic, with firefighters working tirelessly under difficult circumstances.
Attached are some images from the scene. The first shows a Countryside FPD water tender arriving to assist with water supply—this was crucial given the distance to hydrants or other water sources. You can also see Gurnee firefighters deploying hose lines in the second and third photos, showcasing their efforts to control the blaze. In the fourth image, you’ll notice a Pierce fire engine from Newport Township, highlighting the mutual aid efforts that were essential in managing such a large fire.
The Pleasant Prairie Fire Department from Wisconsin also sent resources, as seen in the fifth photo featuring their chief on-scene, indicating the regional cooperation during emergencies. The sixth photo provides a view of the rear of the house engulfed in flames, emphasizing the severity of the situation. Finally, the seventh photo captures a Zion quint vehicle using its master stream to douse the fire, demonstrating the significant resources required to combat such an intense blaze.
