Buffalo Grove EMS Box Alarm 5-11-11

The Buffalo Grove Fire Department responded to a serious four-car motor vehicle collision involving airbag deployment just before noon today. The crash occurred on Milwaukee Avenue near Busch Parkway, an area that falls within the jurisdiction of the Lincolnshire-Riverwoods Fire Protection District. As a result, both departments were dispatched to the scene. Upon arrival, emergency crews found six injured individuals spread across three vehicles, with one car suffering significant structural damage. Firefighters from both departments worked together to extricate two victims from a late-model Cadillac. In response to the severity of the incident, an EMS Box Alarm was activated, bringing additional ambulances from Wheeling, Lake Zurich, Deerfield, Mundelein, and Lake Forest—alongside the local units already on site. Tim Olk and Larry Shapiro were both present at the scene, with Tim arriving before any tools were deployed. Both captured the event through their cameras, with Tim offering a full gallery of images here and Larry sharing his collection here.
