The Chicago Tribune reports that: A U.S. Postal worker at the Lyons post office made a startling discovery on Saturday morning. While sorting through a stack of packages, Mark Thompson noticed something unusual inside a broken envelope—what appeared to be a half-stick of dynamite, a bullet, and some white powder. According to Lyons Fire officials, the suspicious package was found at the west suburban post office located at 7836 W. Ogden Ave., around 8:11 a.m. The incident triggered an immediate hazardous materials response. The post office was quickly evacuated as the Cook County Bomb Squad and multiple fire departments arrived on scene, as confirmed by Lyons police officials.
