Updated February 22, 2022 We’re seeing a gradual return to normalcy after the pandemic, and many of our customers are now more ready to move toward named user licensing. Following up on the extended timeline we announced in November, we’re introducing new flexibility to help you transition smoothly. Starting February 25, 2021, eligible customers will be able to take advantage of the 2:1 multi-user trade-in offer at their first renewal and all future renewals between August 7, 2020, and February 7, 2024. This means you can continue to benefit from this program for a longer period, giving you more time to plan your transition. As the world continues to navigate the ongoing effects of the coronavirus, we’ve seen firsthand how the pandemic has impacted businesses and industries. In March, we postponed the retirement of multi-user subscriptions to August 7, 2021, and delayed the start of the trade-in offer to August 7, 2020. We wanted to avoid adding complexity during an already challenging time. Today, the majority of eligible customers have already taken advantage of the trade-in program. The benefits of cloud-based licensing—such as remote access, cost optimization, and improved collaboration—have proven especially valuable over the past year. While progress has been made, we understand that change is still difficult for some. That’s why we’re extending the multi-user subscription retirement date to February 7, 2023. Additionally, starting February 25, 2021, we’ll allow customers to apply the trade-in offer to their first and all future renewals until February 7, 2024. This extension is designed to support organizations, including governments and educational institutions, as they continue to manage through the pandemic. We want to ensure these customers have access to the tools and solutions they need to operate effectively. In line with our commitment to flexible purchasing options, we’re also accelerating the development of a cloud-based license solution tailored for occasional users. Many of our customers have shared that they have users who only need access a few days per month. Based on this feedback, we launched Autodesk Flex in September 2021—a pay-as-you-go option designed for those with low-frequency usage needs. Discover more about Autodesk Flex, a flexible, pay-as-you-go solution for occasional users. We know that navigating change during a global crisis isn’t easy. While many customers have embraced the shift to named user licensing, others still need more time. By extending the multi-user retirement and introducing new solutions for occasional use, we remain committed to supporting your evolving needs. If you have questions about the current trade-in offer, the extended timeline, or ideas for future solutions, we’d love to hear from you.
