1. The electrical part adopts imported PLC automatic control system, which has strong anti-interference ability and low failure rate.
2. The body adopts the overall steel structure, which has high strength and good stability, and does not need to install anchor screws.
3. The machine adopts hydraulic transmission, highly professional integral valve block, and large flow diameter, which reduces the pressure loss of the system and eliminates the drawback of leakage.
4. The use of cartridge valve, electro-hydraulic proportional valve and unique oil circuit design make the hydraulic system perfect, even if it works under long-term heavy load, the system will not be powerless.
Troy FPD ushers in apparatus change
Karl Klotz recently visited the Troy Fire Protection District (FPD) in Shorewood, Illinois, and shared some exciting updates about the department's evolving identity. Known for decades for their iconic lime green emergency vehicles, the Troy FPD is now transitioning to a more modern and striking color scheme. New apparatus and units undergoing repaint are now sporting a black roof paired with a deep maroon body, marking a significant shift from their traditional look.
The change reflects a broader effort to update the department's visual presence while maintaining its strong community ties. Among the first vehicles to showcase the new scheme is Engine 2211, a 2009 Pierce Arrow XT pumper. This unit, which was photographed by Karl Klotz, stands out with its sleek black roof and bold maroon finish, giving it a fresh and professional appearance.
Another notable vehicle in the new color is Ambulance 2214, a 2010 Ford/Medtec MICU. The ambulance features the same dark red (maroon) body with black accents, along with updated striping that enhances visibility and professionalism. The new design not only looks great but also helps improve the department’s public image.
Additionally, Brush Unit 2228, a 2010 Ford pickup used for wildland firefighting, has also been repainted in the new scheme. This unit, like the others, now sports a black roof over a rich maroon base, making it instantly recognizable as part of the Troy FPD fleet.
These changes signal a new chapter for the Troy FPD, blending tradition with a more contemporary aesthetic that aligns with modern fire service standards. It will be interesting to see how this transformation continues to evolve in the coming years.
