On April 30, 2014, a fire broke out at 1434 Lori-Lyn Lane in Northbrook, capturing the attention of local firefighters and photographer Larry Shapiro. Below are some compelling images and a video from the scene, offering a glimpse into the intense efforts made to control the blaze.
A group of Wheeling firefighters can be seen stretching a supply line, demonstrating the critical coordination needed during such emergencies. Another image shows fire venting through the roof just after interior crews had pulled back, highlighting the dangerous conditions faced by emergency responders.
The tower ladder’s supply line is also captured, showing the equipment used to reach higher areas of the burning structure. As firefighters prepared to deploy the tower ladder, heavy flames were visible through the roof, underscoring the severity of the situation.
