Tianjin University's condensate gas two-phase flowmeter has realized the gas and liquid two-phase flow rate of the natural gas produced at the wellhead on-line without separation measurement, and can measure the gas and liquid flow in real time. The flow meter covers an area of ​​about 1 square meter, the price is only a fraction or even one tenth of the price of foreign similar products applied to land-based gas fields, which can replace imports, significantly reducing the cost and manpower of one-time infrastructure investment, Management costs.

This technology has timely, accurate, and long-term knowledge of the production dynamics of single wells, well areas, gas reservoirs, and gas fields, as well as the judgment of gas well and gas reservoir production changes and water intrusion conditions, the optimization of production gas recovery processes, and the prolongation of the production life of gas wells. It is of great practical significance to improve the recovery of gas fields and protect the geological environment.

According to project leader Xu Ying, Associate Professor of the Department of Automation of the School of Electrical and Automation Engineering of Tianjin University, since 2007, Tianjin University has been responsible for the research project “Research and Application of Dynamic Multi-parameter Measurement Technology for Condensed Natural Gas”, which has received the 863 project of the Ministry of Science and Technology and the State Natural Science Fund and Tianjin Science and Technology Plan Project Funding. By the end of 2013, more than 1,500 logging tasks had been completed. In 2013, due to the application of new technologies, 50 wells groups have been unattended and truly achieved the single-well gas-liquid mixture transmission, saving large-scale gas-liquid separators.

In the first half of this year, the "Research and Application of Multi-parameter Dynamic Measurement Technology of Condensate Natural Gas" project won the first prize of "2013 China Measurement and Measurement Society Science and Technology Progress Award". The award is organized by the China Association for Measurement and Testing, and is registered with the National Awards Office. It is a Social Strength Award with the qualification of the Recommended National Award. The China Association for Measurement and Testing is a Level 1 Society. In 2013, more than 120 projects were declared in the country. After a scientific and rigorous evaluation of the Internet, the review of the meeting and the final evaluation of the defense, 8 first prizes were finally awarded, accounting for 6% of the declared projects.

Song Xianzhong said that since the beginning of the previous research and theoretical research since 2004, this project can be described as "a decade of grinding a sword." At present, with its unique design and core technology, the equipment has reached internationally advanced standards in terms of accuracy; there is no radiation in terms of safety; the price is only 200,000 to 800,000 yuan per set, which is one-fifth that of similar foreign equipment.

It is reported that from December 2012 to July 2014, the condensate gas two-phase flowmeter has been continuously operating normally for more than 550 days at the Yingmai 7 gas gathering station in the Yingmaili Field, Tarim. In the past four years in the application of PetroChina Southwest Oil & Gas Field Branch, the economic benefits have exceeded 90 million yuan.
