New shift commander unit for the Cary FPD

Last month, Cary Fire welcomed a new shift commander unit into service — Battalion #2. This unit is a 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 4X4 extended cab pickup truck, specifically modified for emergency response and command operations. A custom cap was installed over the truck bed to provide additional storage and protection, while a slide-out tray was added to enhance mobility and functionality during field operations.
The vehicle represents an important upgrade for the department, offering improved performance, durability, and versatility. It’s equipped with modern technology and tools necessary for effective command and control during incidents.
