Berwyn house fire 5-14-11
Josh Boyajian was on the scene of a house fire in Berwyn this afternoon and captured several powerful images that highlight the intensity of the situation. The fire broke out in the basement of a home located at 3730 Clarence Avenue, with crews from both Berwyn and North Riverside responding to the emergency. As the flames spread quickly, firefighters worked swiftly to contain the blaze and prevent it from spreading to other parts of the structure.
One of the photos shows firefighters arriving at the scene, clearly showing the urgency of the call. Another image captures the first engine unit moving into position through the front entrance, ready to begin their efforts. A third photo highlights the Berwyn Quint 901 stationed at a hydrant, emphasizing the coordinated response between departments.
Additionally, a long hose line was stretched from the first-due quint to the front of the house, demonstrating the careful setup required for such a fire. Smoke could be seen escaping from a window well on the side of the house, indicating the fire was still active and posing a risk to nearby areas.
These images provide a real-time glimpse into the challenges faced by emergency responders during a basement fire, where limited access and confined spaces can complicate firefighting efforts. Thanks to Josh Boyajian's documentation, we get a clearer picture of the scene as it unfolded.
BOPP Thermal Lamination Film is a type of heat laminating film made from biaxially oriented polypropylene (BOPP) as the base material and processed through special coating or composite techniques. It is mainly used for surface lamination of printed materials (such as book covers, packaging boxes, posters, etc.) to enhance their wear resistance, water resistance, glossiness and aesthetic appeal.
Â
1. Key Feature
-High transparency: Maintaining the clarity and vividness of colors of printed materials.
-Excellent rigidity & flatness: BOPP substrate offers good stiffness and anti-curling property.
-Hot melt adhesive layer: Usually EVA (ethylene-vinyl acetate) or PUR (polyurethane) hot melt adhesives are adopted to ensure a firm bond.
-Temperature resistance: Adapt to the heating roller temperature of the laminating machine (typically 80~120℃).
-Waterproof and moisture-proof: Protect printed materials from the influence of moisture and stains.
-Glossy film: High gloss, enhancing visual effect.
-Matte film: Anti-glare, improving texture.
-Scratch-resistant/UV-resistant: Special coating to extend durability.
Â
2. Application Fields
-Printing and Packaging: Book covers, picture albums, color boxes, labels.
-Commercial Promotion: Posters, menus, business cards, tags.
-Industrial Uses: Electronic product instructions, waterproof maps.
Â
3. Production Process
-BOPP base film production: Two-dimensional stretched polypropylene film (to enhance strength and transparency).
-Coating/Composite: Apply hot melt adhesive (such as EVA) onto the BOPP substrate.
-Cutting & Conveying: Cut into different widths according to customer requirements (commonly 450mm/600mm etc.).
