Domestic hydrogen analyzer successfully applied in the Puguang gas field to import imported equipment

On September 25th, after three months of operation at the second joint installation of the Puguang Gas Field Natural Gas Purification Plant, the domestic hydrogen analyzer demonstrated stable performance and effective water removal. The equipment has proven to be comparable in quality and efficiency to its imported counterparts. Puguang Gas Field is located in Puguang Town, Xuanhan County, Dazhou City, Sichuan Province. It is an ultra-deep, high-sulfur, high-pressure gas field situated in a complex mountainous area. As the largest marine high-sulfur gas field discovered in China, it has played a significant role in the country’s energy supply. As of August 20, the total gas production from the Puguang Gas Field reached 70.045 billion cubic meters. Of this, 51.28 billion cubic meters came from the main block, 18.443 billion from the Dawan block, and 273 million cubic meters from the Shuangmiao Qingxi and peripheral blocks. In the early stages of production, all online analytical instruments in the purification unit were imported. To address issues such as high spare parts costs, long procurement lead times, and excessive moisture during startup, Puguang Branch collaborated with relevant departments to test key technologies of the imported hydrogen analyzer, including its supporting systems, water removal techniques, and material selection. A localization pilot project was launched to tackle these challenges. Technicians, along with domestic research institutions and manufacturers, conducted extensive research over nearly three years, ultimately achieving successful localization of the hydrogen analyzer. Today, the domestic hydrogen analyzer is installed in the purification system, operating in parallel with the imported model and connected to the DCS distributed control system. It has run smoothly without any failures, and real-time data shows that its detection results are very close to those of the imported device. Moreover, its sensitivity and linearity error performance even exceed that of the imported equipment. According to reports, the domestic hydrogen analyzer employs multi-stage water removal methods such as dynamic recirculation and vortex cooling. This allows most of the water vapor to return to the process pipeline, effectively preventing large amounts of moisture from entering the system during startup or shutdown. This helps protect the detection components. Additionally, the domestic supplier has significantly reduced the lead time from 9 months to just 15 days, and both procurement and annual maintenance costs have been cut by half, completely resolving the issues associated with foreign equipment.
